ANNOUNCING: The GNOME Desktop and Developer Platform version 2.10.1

Announcing the first point release for the stable 2.10.x series of TheGNOME Desktop and Developer Platform. This is the first in a series ofstable releases containing bugfixes, translation updates and otherimprovements.

This is the fifth update of Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (codename ‘woody’) which mainly adds security updates to the stable release, along with a few corrections to serious problems. Those who frequently update from security.debian.org won't have to update many packages and most updates from security.debian.org are included in this update.

Please note that this update does not produce a new version of Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 but only adds a few updated packages to it. There is no need to throw away 3.0 CDs but only to update against ftp.debian.org after an installation, in order to incorporate those late changes.

Following the recent new roadmap announcement, Mandriva (pronounced"Man-dree-vah"!) Linux Limited Edition 2005 is a transitional releasebetween 10.1 Official and 2006 Official which will be released by theend of this year.

MANDRIVA do të jetë emri i ri i shoqërisë, ndërsa për prodhimet do të përdoret emri Mandriva Linux

Arsyet për këto ndryshime janë sa në vazhdim:
1- Bashkimi i para pak kohëve i dy shoqërive të mësipërme krijoi nevojën e përdorimit të një emri të ri
2- Beteja e gjatë gjyqsore me shoqërinë Hearst në lidhje me stemën.

Rrjedhimisht, ndryshimi i emrit tashmë pasqyrohet edhe tek sitet internet të përdorur nga shoqëria:

Sapo është lëshuar versioni 2.2.6 i AbiWord, një nga "word processor" më të mirë në Linux.

Ky version korrigjon difektet dhe problemet e ndeshura në versionin paraardhës 2.2.5.

Dua t'ju kujtoj gjithashtu që ky program është krejtësisht i përkthyer në gjuhën shqipe, përkthim i mirëmbajtur nga Besnik Bleta.
